High Interval Intensity Training or HIIT can give the same results in 15 mins that running for an hour on a treadmill does for you. Nope, I’m not pulling a fast one, years of study and research have proven this. However, those 15 mins will wipe you out.
So HIIT is basically any workout that alternates bursts of furious activity with less furious activity or even complete rest. For example, run for 1 minute and walk for 1 minute and repeat 7 time for 14 minutes and your HIIT workout is done. This is very effective fat blaster, science doesn’t lie, It works and here are the reasons why :
Intense Fat burn
Your metabolism jumps and stays jacked up for upto 48 hrs after exercise, which means you’ll be burning fat continually even after you’ve left the gym.
American College of Sports Medicine estimated that just 2 weeks of HIIT improved your cardio-vascular efficiency and capacity as much as 6-8 weeks of endurance training would.
You lose weight, not muscle
As opposed to steady state cardio where you will lose hard earned muscle , HIIT impacts fat stored in the body so you get to preserve the muscle and still lose weight.
Furthermore, you can do it anywhere without any equipment whatsoever.
Next time you get on a treadmill or a cycle or an elliptical try alternating intensities in intervals and see the difference.
